Our History
1977
While running a local sawmill, Clarence Brewer Sr. made use of his great mechanical mind to develop his first product - a better gang saw for pallet mills. Growing demand for this gang saw led Brewer to formalize his first company, and thus Brewer Incorporated was born.
1985
After growing Brewer, Inc. to a key player in the sawmill equipment industry in the 70s and early 80s, Brewer decided to sell his company (which would later become Brewer Machine & Parts) to his business partner, in order to pursue interests outside of the sawmill industry. For the rest of the decade, Brewer Sr. and his son would develop products for the auto-body industry and even made a foray into the world of NASCAR.
1990
Despite significant success in the auto-body and motorsports industries, Clarence Sr. still felt the calling to return to his original passion of designing and building precision sawmill equipment, and founded Brewco in 1990.
1997
In the late 90s, Clarence Sr. recognized the need for a thin-kerf resaw that would allow smaller mills, who had historically used circle saws to compete with larger sawmills who were taking advantage of band saw technology, and thus the Brewco B-1600 Thin-Kerf resaw system was born.
2006
As he neared retirement age, Clarence Sr. decided it was time to pass the baton to the next generation of sawmill equipment experts. Since his son, Clarence Jr. decided to stay in the world of motorsports, the business was sold to long-time employees and soon-to-be business partners, Bill Hendrix and Mike Goldston. This pair would faithfully lead the company, charting the course for the future of Brewco.
2023
After nearly two decades of ownership and operation, Bill and Mike sold Brewco to the Curran family, who bring a combination of energy, strategic vision, and new resources to the sawmill equipment industry. Kevin Curran assumed the role of President & CEO, while his brother Scott took the operational reigns as VP of Operations.
2025
In the latest development of our long history, Brewco acquired Brewer Machine & Parts, bringing the legacy of Clarence Brewer Sr. back together under one roof.
